Tuscaloosa's Old Southern Times Magazine celebrates vintage photos, old remedies, folktales, humor, and Tuscaloosa area reminisces from amateur and professional writers. Tell your story, or who's to say it really happened?
The original version of the magazine was started in 1994 with the goal of telling unique stories before they were completely forgotten. Today we are proud to announce a new group of dedicated folks have decided to continue that mission and restart the magazine after a two-year hiatus. We feel our rebranded look and name is a reflection of where the magazine has been and were it's now going. Our cutting edge visual storytelling concepts will include many more vintage photos, well-loved popular columns, more practical how-to articles, and crossovers with our digital products as well.
We want your feedback on what you'd like to see and read about; the period memories from the 60s up to today, the really older stuff, or a mixture of both. We are also active in preservation efforts and advocacy campaigns in an effort to preserve our time-worn buildings, homes, landmarks and our proud common historic culture for future generations. What issues are you concerned about regarding preservation, historical revisionism, cultural heritage and more. Thanks for your interest and feedback!
